Over the coming weeks, the New York City Department of Transportation will be implementing streetscape improvements on Broadway between Canal Street and 14th Street. This work includes curb extensions and pavement markings as well as planters. These improvements will shorten crosswalks, slow vehicular turns, and increase pedestrian space as well as add greenery to the corridor. Read more here.
The SoHo Broadway Initiative will be responsible for the overall maintenance of the curb extensions between Houston and Canal, including cleaning, snow removal and graffiti removal, as well as planting, watering and weeding of the planters.
