First Annual NYC BID Day: Recap

SoHo Broadway Community: Celebrating local businesses and raising awareness about the role of BIDs as part of Small Business Month

On May 9th, the inaugural NYC BID Day was held as part of Small Business Month. Business Improvement Districts (BIDs) across New York City hosted events last month to honor the small businesses in their districts that drive economic activity as well as contribute towards a diverse neighborhood identity. The SoHo Broadway Initiative hosted a community outreach event at Think Coffee last month to support a local small business in the SoHo Broadway corridor and to connect community members with the Initiative and its mission to make SoHo Broadway a vibrant place to live, work, and visit.

As part of our BID Day programming, we conducted targeted outreach to several small businesses in the district and connected them with resources and opportunities offered by the Department of Small Business Services.

Staff visited local small business Pearl River Mart as part of BID Day outreach!

During our tabling event at Think Coffee, we spoke to community members about the services and resources provided by the Initiative. Click through the gallery below to see our team in action!:

The SoHo Broadway event was part of the citywide NYC BID Day, which celebrated the role of Business Improvement Districts throughout the city to support small businesses and create thriving places to do business, work, shop, visit, and live. NYC BID Day was just one of many events during NYC Small Business Month. The Department of Small Business Services held events across the five boroughs all month long focusing on topics like financing, M/WBE contracting, resiliency and emergency preparedness, youth and new entrepreneurs, and hiring and career services.
