The Envision SoHo/NoHo recommendations prioritize addressing quality of life issues, with a focus on alleviating sidewalk/roadway congestion, maximizing opportunities for open space, and improving waste management and deliveries. Importantly, the report supports allowing people to live in SoHo without being an artist and allowing retail uses as of right on the ground floor and cellar level while also taking important steps to strengthen creative industries and the artistic community.

The Initiative is encouraged that the report’s recommendations align closely with our adopted planning goals, which are enthusiastically supported by residential and commercial stakeholders from SoHo Broadway. The Initiative’s planning goals can be downloaded here

We look forward to working with our elected officials, city agencies, Community Board 2, community groups, and neighbors to simultaneously pursue those recommendations that deliver the transformational solutions required to address SoHo’s challenges in regard to quality of life, zoning, and more.

We hope that you will join us on January 8th and 15th to learn more about the recommendations and advocate for the implementation of much-needed changes.

If you cannot attend these meetings, or would like to additionally leave a comment electronically, comments can be submitted via the Envision SoHo/NoHo guestbook (at bottom of page) or via email to Soho-Noho@planning.nyc.gov.
