The latest to join the Artists & Fleas family, we welcome Black Gold Records to SoHo Broadway.
A propriety coffee roaster serving rich cold brews and hot drips, Black Gold brings a Brooklyn feeling into Manhattan. In addition to coffee, they sell new and used records, oddities and obscurities (antiques, curiosities, and collectibles too) and a growing apparel collection. They cross a few industries, adding a unique feeling to the SoHo Broadway community.
We asked co-founders Jeff Ogiba and Michael Polnasek what brought them to SoHo Broadway. “We were wanting to expand for a while and this is the perfect spot,” said Jeff. “We have our proper home in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn, but wanted to introduce Manhattan to our brand.” Mike adds, “Places change like fashion. We wanted to bring our timeless variety here.”
The Black Gold business model is different than most places in that they curate their variety of tastes, sounds, feelings, smells, and visuals with the goal of stimulating the different senses. Starting with taste in their coffee or music, they seek to come at the customer from a lot of different angles. “We’d like to stimulate the senses in a good way,” said Jeff.
