In partnership with the Horticultural Society of New York, the Initiative maintains planters along Broadway and its cross streets to enhance the pedestrian experience. Now that fall is here, the Horticultural Society has refreshed the corridor with an autumnal palate of plants including celosia, marigolds, ornamental beets, bidens, strawflowers, and dusty miller. These large planters add color, greenery and safety for pedestrians and our Citibins (whose rooftop planters are blooming with sedum and allium). We hope you enjoy these festive fall colors throughout the season!
