This is a friendly reminder that there will be no residential garbage, recycling, and curbside compost collection by the Department of Sanitation on Wednesday, February 12th for Lincoln’s Birthday. Collection may also be suspended on Monday, February 17th due to the Presidents’ Day holiday.
Please check DSNY’s social media accounts (X, Facebook, or Instagram), DSNY’s press release page, or 311 for updated direction as collection dates that fall on a holiday approach to confirm the agency’s plans, as holiday service is subject to change and in recent years special holiday service has on occasion been announced.
Residents who normally receive Wednesday trash, Curbside Composting, or recycling collection may place their material at the curb Wednesday evening, for collection beginning Thursday, February 13th.
If service is also suspended on Monday, February 17th, prepare to place items items out on Tuesday evening for pickup starting on Wednesday, February 19th.
NOTE: Residents may experience collection delays as DSNY works to collect the backlog of material.
