SoHo Broadway COVID-19 Update

Watch this page for current conditions in the corridor and resources for residents and businesses

Last updated 3/1/21. Updated at least monthly.

In late December, a Federal COVID-19 relief and spending package was signed into law, which includes $900 billion in COVID-19 aid. The package includes $600 relief checks for many Americans, an assortment of aid for small businesses and money to purchase and distribute vaccines. Read more here. Tips from the Department of Small Business Services for businesses to prepare for the next round of Paycheck Protection Program loans can be found here (currently open only to businesses with fewer than 20 employees and sole proprietors until Tuesday, March 9, 2021). As of this writing, a follow-up relief package has passed the House of Representatives and is before the Senate.

New York City remains in Phase Four of reopening under New York Forward.

Indoor dining in New York City is open at 35% capacity as of February 26, 2021. The reopening is subject to strict state guidance

The Initiative will continue to keep abreast of the situation, including any new restrictions that may be announced. In the meantime we urge all community members to redouble their efforts at maintaining safe practices in their businesses and personal lives, and to get tested regularly. A private testing site has opened in the SoHo Broadway district.

Approximately 10 million New Yorkers are now eligible for COVID-19 vaccines. Eligible groups include doctors, nurses and health care workers, people age 65 and over, first responders, teachers, public transit workers, grocery store workers and public safety workers. We urge you to sign up as soon as you are eligible! Read more on the New York State vaccine page.

SoHo Broadway Initiative

Initiative staff members are in the office at 594 Broadway suite 1107 daily to monitor conditions in the district, answer your questions, maintain lines of communication with public agency partners, and support our sanitation and public safety services. The best way to reach staff is via email (staff email addresses are linked here), though you can also call us on our office phone numbers which are linked to our mobile phones.

The Clean Team continues to pick up litter, remove graffiti, manage snow removal, and serve as eyes/ears on the street within the SoHo Broadway district.

For the near term, the Initiative will not be holding in-person public or internal gatherings.

Our team is here to help guide the SoHo Broadway community through this challenging time; please contact us with any questions or to help with accessing any resources referenced on our site.
