Prepare for No DSNY Collections on MLK Day

SoHo Broadway Partner: DSNY residential collection will be suspended on Monday, January 20th.

This is a friendly reminder that there will be no residential garbage, recycling, and curbside compost collection by the Department of Sanitation on Monday, January 20th due to the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.

Please check DSNY’s social media accounts (X, Facebook, or Instagram), DSNY’s press release page, or 311 for updated direction as collection dates that fall on a holiday approach to confirm the agency’s plans, as holiday service is subject to change and in recent years special holiday service has on occasion been announced— though they have recently confirmed that there would be no service (as of 1/14/25).

Assuming that that directive remains in place, prepare to place garbage, recycling, and composting items out in the District on Tuesday evening for pickup starting on Wednesday, January 22nd.

NOTE: Residents may experience collection delays as DSNY works to collect the backlog of material.
