What brought you to SoHo Broadway? What do you do here?
Although I was born in Brooklyn, the minute I stepped out of a cab 28 years ago to go to a party In SoHo, I knew this crazy place was my jam. The streets were ominous but wreaking with legacy… I prayed they would answer the buzzer fast and when I walked into a rocking loft party filled with smiling faces I knew I was home! I lived here for over 25 years. I raised my son here who went to PS 130 and he is now in law school in the University of Virginia.
My PR firm, Trent and Company, which started in my apartment almost 30 years ago and has since moved around the corner, is America’s premier wellness agency. You can’t name a mainstream wellness trend that we didn’t have our fingers on from juicing to spinning, pro-biotics, sun protection to Ayurvedic yoga and meditation.
What do you like about SoHo Broadway?
People travel around the world to experience energy vortexes. I have no doubt that SoHo is an urban vortex. You can see the energy sparkling in the streets. Look at the totally cool people who live and work here and those who visit. We are all very special. We have to support our village.
What is your favorite SoHo Broadway memory or experience?
Every day that I wake up to Lafayette Street through my bedroom window, get through another work-out at Exhale, get the most gorgeous fresh fruit from Dean and Deluca on the way to my office and start another crazy, magical day in the best neighborhood, in the best city in the world to make things happen!
If you had 20 minutes to kill, where would you go?
I would do a meditation, privately or publicly… I am obsessed. I’d also walk to West Broadway and check out the art gallery I am called to. People from around the world come here to buy art and we have it all the time. Is it better to visit a garden or be the gardener?
What should we know about you outside of working/living here? What do you do for fun or are you looking forward to doing?
I am totally excited about the second half of my life. We are all connected and I want to continue to make this a better place. I know we are here for a special purpose and in our own special way, we have to make that happen. I have recently returned to drawing at Spring Studio and I have a show coming up in 2018.
