Blizzard Warning in effect for NYC Starting 12am Tuesday, March 14, 2017

Winter Weather Advisory

The National Weather Service has issued a Blizzard Warning for New York City with Heavy Snow and Blizzard Conditions. for Tuesday 3/14 through Wednesday 3/15.  Snow Accumulations forecasted at 12 to 20 inches and snowfall Rates…2 to 4 inches per hour starting early Tuesday morning into early Tuesday afternoon. Winds will be Northeast 25 to 35 mph with gusts 40 to 55 mph on Tuesday.

SoHo Broadway’s Initiative’s Clean Team will remove snow and ice from crosswalks, catch basins, bus stops, subway entrances and the areas surrounding fire hydrants as soon as possible.

City Services: 

• The New York City Department of Sanitation has issued a “Snow Alert” for Monday, March 13 at 11 p.m. Calling a “Snow Alert” allows DSNY to begin to prepare for a response by loading salt spreaders, attaching plows, preparing tire chains and notifying other city agencies and supplementary personnel as needed.
• Alternate side parking is suspended Tuesday, March 14 and Wednesday, March 15 for snow removal. Meters and all other parking regulations remain in effect. Check status at www1.nyc.gov
• Garbage/recycling collections will be suspended once snow operations begin. Please visit www.nyc.gov or call 311 to find out when DSNY’s residential garbage/recycling collection will resume.
