On October 18th, Scotch & Soda, a popular fashion brand from the Netherlands, opened a new pop-up store in SoHo in its return to the New York City market. The 6,000-sq.-ft. store offers a curated selection of men’s, women’s and children’s apparel and accessories. Design elements of the store include decorative white beams illuminated by track lighting, natural hardwood flooring, distressed brick walls and industrial-inspired metal fixtures. This is the brand’s first store opening since being acquired by Bluestar Alliance in 2023 after filing for bankruptcy. Previously, the brand operated approximately 46 stores in the U.S., but 20 of those locations (including the brand’s stores in New York City) had been closed over the past 2 years.
The Initiative is pleased to welcome Scotch & Soda back to New York City right here on Broadway, the continution of a longtime trend of global retail brands choosing the SoHo Broadway corridor as part of their (re)entry strategy into the NYC or US markets.
