In concert with the launch of expanded services on Crosby and Mercer Street, the Initiative is pleased to announce that 3 new members have joined the SoHo Broadway Clean Team (provided by ACE) over the past two months. Get to know Natasha Brnjac, Cory Jones, and George Malchiodi below and say hello if you see them on the sidewalks of SoHo!:
Natasha Brjnac was born in East Elmhurst and still lives in Queens. She has two daughters, a sister, and mother.
When did you start working/volunteering with SoHo Broadway Initiative?
I started to work for SoHo Broadway on January 16th, 2023. I was in training and saw the guys in blue and became curious. When I was offered the opportunity, I had to say yes!
Outside of work, what are your interests and activities?
I love swimming and painting and love spending time with my daughters.
What’s the best part of the next thing you’re doing?
Taking my daughters traveling someplace; still thinking of where to go!
Where is your favorite hang-out in the SoHo/Downtown area?
Still learning the SoHo area but my daughters and I love the MINISO USA store!
What is your preferred mode of transportation in NYC?
The bus.
Originally hailing from East Meadow, Long Island, Cory Jones now lives in Manhattan. He has a son and a daughter, as well as two brothers, a sister, mother and father.
When did you start working/volunteering with SoHo Broadway Initiative?
I started working in mid-December 2022 for SoHo Broadway. ACE Senior Crew Supervisor Lance Marsh wanted me to try it out, and I like working here at this location.
Outside of work, what are your interests and activities?
Family time, going to the movies, and going out to eat.
What’s the best part of the next thing you’re doing?
I’m working on getting my own apartment as I continue to thrive here in SoHo and build a future.
Where is your favorite hang-out in the SoHo/Downtown area?
I have not been around in the city much until recently but I’m learning and liking the places I have visited so far. So far, I love SoHo and around Herald Square.
What is your preferred mode of transportation in NYC?
Train right now but that may change after I get a car.
George Malchiodi was born in Staten Island and currently lives in the Bronx. He has a daughter, five brothers, and two sisters.
When did you start working/volunteering with SoHo Broadway Initiative?
Since mid-January 2023 and I love the area!
Outside of work, what are your interests and activities?
I’m into reading history and weightlifting.
What’s the best part of the next thing you’re doing?
Fixing up my place, which is in the works now.
Where is your favorite hang-out in the SoHo/Downtown area?
My favorite place around the area is Rintintin.
What is your preferred mode of transportation in NYC?
Train.
