The NYC Department of Small Businesses (SBS) has partnered with 3×3, a social impact consultancy, to assess the needs and challenges that NYC’s diverse small businesses face during commercial renovations and identify opportunities to improve regulations and the overall process.
Focus Groups
Focus groups with small business owners will be conducted in each of the five boroughs during the weeks of May 20th and May 27th. This will be an opportunity for business owners to share their experiences undergoing commercial renovations, the challenges and barriers they face, and any opportunities they see to improve the process. The research will inform interventions to streamline city regulations and improve the experience of small businesses undergoing renovations.
Survey
Small business owners are invited to participate in a survey about their renovation experience for a chance to win a $100 Visa gift card.
