The NYC Department of Small Business Services (SBS), which works to unlock economic potential and create economic security for all New Yorkers, is conducting a survey of small businesses.

SBS is looking to understand the most common violations by NYC business owners since January 2024.

Small business owners can face significant costs when receiving and resolving City-issued violations, including:

• Direct financial costs in the form of fines and penalties
• Indirect costs like time spent complying with administrative requirements and attending hearings
