New York City Department of Transportation (NYC DOT) and the SoHo Broadway Initiative are partnering to present a temporary public art project at a bus stop located on Broadway between Grand Street and Howard Street in Manhattan to be installed in the spring of 2017.
DOT Art has released the Request for Proposals for the Community Commissions program and is looking for artists to apply. If you or someone you know is interested in creating a sculpture on SoHo’s Broadway, please see the RFP for more information.
The selected artist will be eligible to receive up to $12,000 toward the project budget. The deadline to submit a proposal is January 6th, 2017.
The Community Commissions Fall 2016 Open Call, solicits artists to present temporary site-responsive artwork around the City. Within the Open Call, five priority sites, one from each borough, have been identified with local partners such as the SoHo Broadway Initiative for artists to respond with colorful and dynamic artwork. The Initiative will be an active member of the selection process and then, will act as the host of the temporary artwork for 11 months.
Be creative SoHo Broadway!
