Night Moves: Clean Team at Night

Many of you see the Initiative’s Clean Team during the day sweeping the sidewalk, emptying trash receptacles and removing graffiti.  But what about at night?  Every other week for two nights starting at around 7pm, the Clean Team breaks out the power washing truck to clean all 24 corners in the district.

John Kaminsky and Paul Manzi man the power washing truck and work together like a well-oiled machine.  Each corner is cleared of trash and recycling receptacles, scrubbed and power washed.  Before the receptacles are returned, the liner is removed and cleaned and then the receptacle is cleaned.

The whole process takes between 15 to 20 minutes and helps keep our crowded corners clean and odor free.
