In September, Nadia Vassell Salon relocated from the Lower East Side to its new home in the SoHo Broadway district. We caught up with owner and hairstylist Nadia Vassell herself to learn more about what to expect from this new addition to the district!:
1. What does your company do? What industry are you in?
Nadia Vassell Salon is a luxury hair salon that delivers unique one-on-one personalized hair care services in all of the following areas:
Our services provide a range of options for people with varying textures, length, and hair condition. We are happy to work with individuals seeking our services for special occasions and at-home hair and makeup services.
2. What brought your company to SoHo?
It’s good to be back in SoHo after opening my first location for 12 years on the Lower East Side. I say “back” because my early beginnings were at a salon on Howard Street, then Grand Street. So it feels amazing to now open the salon in the heart of SoHo.
With Black professional women all over the city achieving excellence, I felt that we needed to represent and host them in a more prestigious neighborhood.
SoHo, the hottest retail district, is by far my favorite part of the city to go shopping and then grab a bite to eat at a popular restaurant. The location is perfect because of the easy accessibility to multiple trains, including the F, M, B, D, R, W, and 6 trains. What attracts me to SoHo is the trendy creative vibe, perfect for our clientele.
3. What sets your company apart from the rest?
Anyone looking for the services that we offer will engage with our beautifully designed website, which is both informative and easy to use. Our website offers online booking which allows the customers to book their hair experiences at their own convenience.
Customers will receive both a text and email confirmation and reminders about their appointments. Once customers arrive for their appointments, they will be greeted by their names, eye contact, handshakes, or warm embrace. We will offer refreshments from coffee and tea to a glass of wine or champagne.
Consultations are personalized and we truly want our guests to feel like family, so we prepare for their next visit. The entire experience is personalized.
