In October, William Bookin joined the ACE Clean Team serving the SoHo Broadway District. William is a New York local born in Manhattan and currently living in Alphabet City. We interviewed him with a brief set of questions to get know him better. We are excited to welcome William to the Initiative and grateful for his help in maintaining the district!
SBI: What got you interested in working at the SoHo Broadway Initiative?
WB: I like to help people and feel like I’m making a huge impact with this line of work so others can appreciate it. And I get paid for doing something fulfilling!
SBI: Outside of work – what are your interests and activities?
WB: Running (I ran in the 2021 NYC Marathon), yoga, kickboxing.
SBI: What’s the best part of the next thing you’re doing?
WB: Moving into a new home soon and hoping to volunteer in food pantries around the city.
SBI: Where is your favorite hang-out in the SoHo/Downtown area?
WB: Washington Square Park, Union Square Park, East River Park along the FDR
SBI: What is your preferred mode of transportation in NYC?
WB: Subway, of course!
