In October 2014 the SoHo Broadway Initiative proudly named its first Executive Director, Mark Dicus, to guide the organization’s development, sanitation, pedestrian/public safety and capital improvement programs. Mark is a skilled advocate on behalf of New York City neighborhoods. He was previously the Executive Director of the Church Avenue BID in Brooklyn, a diverse community where he worked cooperatively with stakeholders, government agencies and elected officials to transform the district through the installation of antique street lighting, a robust façade improvement program and several significant pedestrian safety/traffic calming initiatives. Prior to joining the Initiative, Mark served as the Director of Finance and Human Resources at PAVE Academy Charter School. Mark is also an experienced tax attorney and real estate broker.
Mark has a JD from Brooklyn Law School and an LLM in Taxation from New York University. He is also a Cum Laude graduate of the University of South Carolina. Mark is a long-time Brooklyn resident where he lives with his family and plays Ultimate Frisbee in his spare time.
