The Museum of Ice Cream (MOIC) is coming to SoHo! Originally opened in 2016 as a pop-up in the Meatpacking District, the museum has seen other iterations since in Los Angeles, Miami, and San Francisco, where it is currently still operating. The SoHo location will be their second permanent location after San Francisco. The brainchild of founder Maryellis Bunn – herself inspired by a childhood dream of jumping into a pool of sprinkles (something you can do at the museum) – MOIC is an experiential installation inspired by ice cream and operates under the premise that “ice cream is a  universal symbol of joy, a personal pleasure, and a transportive vehicle for anyone’s imagination.” These beliefs are reflected in their mission statement:

“Museum of Ice Cream is fueled by the power of imagination and connection. We are not a traditional museum. We create multi-sensorial installations that connect people and spread joy. So, don’t expect ice cream history lessons. Here unicorns are real and everyone deserves a swim in the sprinkle pool. Expect the unimaginable around every corner.

The museum is not yet open, but tickets will go on sale October 9th.  Interested New Yorkers can sign-up for an early access waiting list.
