Write Now! A Writers’ Collective is a space to write and think creatively. We send out the prompts ahead of time, but by no means do you need to start writing in advance. The point is to generate a piece of writing in the space of the workshop and encourage others to do the same.

Writers will have about 40 minutes to free write, then anyone who wants to can share their writing for feedback.

Here are this month’s optional prompts:

• June is LGBTQ+ Pride Month. What is something about yourself that makes you feel proud? Where do feelings of pride come from, and how can they be a positive force in your life?
• What is your earliest memory of gender? What happened that created an awareness of gender differences? What was your reaction to this awareness?
• “Coming out” isn’t just for members of the LGBT+ community – write about something you or your character have or had to “come out of the closet” about, even if it’s not related to LGBT+ identity.

This event will take place in-person at the Mulberry Street Library. Registration is optional and does not guarantee attendance. Participation is first-come, first-served and limited to 20 writers.
