One-day collaboration blends sound, spray, and spontaneity on April 11, 2026, from 2:00–4:00 PM
New York City — The Grammy-winning string quartet ETHEL teams up with The Banksy Museum and acclaimed street artist Daniel “DAZ” Carello for a one-of-a-kind live performance event bringing together these two powerful creative forces on April 11, 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
ETHEL will bring its signature style to an immersive, improvised jazz-influenced performance inside the museum galleries, while Daniel “DAZ” Carello simultaneously creates a street art painting live. The music and visual art will unfold together in real time — each responding to the other — transforming the museum into a living, breathing act of creative rebellion.
This extraordinary event collapses the boundaries between disciplines, audiences, and process. As ETHEL’s dynamic soundscapes evolve moment by moment, Carello’s painting will emerge stroke by stroke, spray by spray in a raw, one-of-a-kind work born directly from the music and the energy of the room.
“Banksy’s legacy is about disruption, collaboration, and breaking rules,” said a spokesperson for The Banksy Museum. “This event embodies that spirit — art made live, without a script, in full view of the audience.”
ETHEL’S thrilling performances across the globe have included over 500 premieres, and the ensemble is known for pushing the limits of genre and performance, including its fearless approach to improvisation on display in April. Their previous performances can be sampled through instagram @ETHELCENTRAL.
For Carello, his objective is “to create an eye-catching and impactful artwork that will enliven the viewer”. His instinctive, street-level visual language in a rare once-in-a lifetime public collaboration. Check out his work on instagram @daniel_daz_carello.
There will be no recordings, no repeats. This experience will only exist in the moment. Be there to see it.
