JVP and Margalit StartUp City are proud to present our SoHo Reopening Showcase: A safe and outdoor gathering of local artisans and entrepreneurs, with refreshments and live music.

The showcase, which will take place at our Margalit StartUp City International Cyber Center, is hosted with our partner, Cinch, a mobile platform built to connect neighborhoods to their local small businesses.

We’re excited to welcome our resilient and inspiring SoHo community to celebrate New York’s recovery, and we hope you’ll join us on Tuesday, July 21st from 4:30 ET to 6:30 ET.

Jimmy Aponte

Art

Born and raised in New York City, Jimmy Aponte captures an abstract point of view of the city. He began as a performing arts, but adopted photography during a production when he was asked at the last minute to document behind-the-scenes. He hasn’t stopped snapping pictures since.

Aponte started selling his photography on Prince street SoHo in 2013. Old time graffiti legend Mark Alaquin advised, “when you open shop, don’t be lazy and do some work; look busy. Start painting on your pictures or something.” Jimmy began painting on his photos, and both locals and collectors began avidly purchasing his work.
