Housing Update: SoHo/NoHo Neighborhood Plan with NYC Planning

The Department of City Planning, Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer and Council Member Margaret Chin will be co-hosting a series of information sessions in the coming months. Each session, joined by involved city agencies, will focus on specific aspects of the Neighborhood Plan.

• Presentation followed by a Q&A

Draft Agenda for Feb 3, 2021:

• Introductory Remarks
• Joint Presentation by the Department of City Planning (DCP) and the Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD)
  • Existing housing in SoHo and NoHo
  • Housing in the SoHo/NoHo Neighborhood Plan
  • Strategies to preserve and create affordable housing
• Q&A with DCP and HPD

This will be an opportunity to learn more and ask questions specific to the theme of each event including housing, quality of life in a community where businesses and residents live in close proximity, arts and culture and more. The total of three sessions are based on the topics of:

1) Affordable Housing and Mandatory Inclusionary Housing;
2) Mixed-Use and Quality-of-Life Issues; and
3) Arts and Culture.

How to participate:

The first public session on Housing will be held on February 3, 2021 at 6:30pm.
