Judd Foundation presents an exhibition and public programs in partnership with Artists Against the Bomb in conjunction with a concurrent exhibition at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. The exhibition of artist-designed posters, presented by Artists Against the Bomb in support of the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW), is organized by Estudio Pedro Reyes and the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN).
The exhibition will be accompanied by a publication that features all participating works, along with a foreword by Pedro Reyes and Melissa Parke, executive director of ICAN, which reviews the history of antinuclear movements and their strategies to combat the use of nuclear weapons.
Public hours are of the exhibition begin Wednesday, November 29 from 11:00am to 5:00pm. The exhibition will be closed on Sunday, December 5.

An afternoon of conversations on denuclearization, disarmament and atomic culture with artists Rachel Bronson, Lyndon Burford, Stephanie Dvareckas, Petuuche Gilbert, Adam Jonas Horowitz, Paul Miller aka DJ Spooky, Pedro Reyes, and Eric Schlosser. This event is free and open to the public, no reservation required.

Adam Jonas Horowitz and Petuuche Gilbert, an enduring voice from the ‘downwinders’, will be in conversation about nuclear colonialism in New Mexico.

Stephanie Dvareckas, who has recently returned from the Fulbright Scholars Program in Kazakhstan, will present her paper “Affective Ecologies: Zones of Visibility and the Bomb.”

Lyndon Burford, who has been building an extensive archive of nuclear resistance in New Zealand, will share his material in “Memories of a Nuclear Free Future.”

Rachel Bronson, CEO of the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists, and Pedro Reyes will discuss what can be done from the fields of art and science to delay the hands of the Doomsday Clock.

Eric Schlosser and Pedro Reyes will review how artists, writers and filmmakers have opposed the bomb from Hiroshima to the present.

Paul Miller aka DJ Spooky will perform his Peace Symphony: A musical composition inspired by the everyday stories of the last remaining survivors of the nuclear bomb attacks on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Artists Against the Bomb is a poster campaign calling for universal nuclear disarmament. This group of posters comprises historical and newly commissioned pieces that range across different fields: graphic arts, film, photography, sculpture, music, poetry and fiction, as well as agitprop and records of activism. Sometimes these categories blur together, but they always have one thing in common: a sense of urgency that we as a species cannot wait for solutions to come from those at the top and that only public outrage and the spirit of protest will generate the critical mass necessary to produce change.
Artists Against the Bomb is designed for maximum agility and economic effectiveness, relying on a black and white palette both for its impact and ease of reproduction. We asked artists to ensure their works can exist on a variety of supports, ephemera such as posters, postcards, billboards, banners, flags, t-shirts and social media posts, as we aspire to achieve the widest possible circulation of this message.
