On Monday, April 22, the SoHo Broadway Initiative celebrated Earth Day with a block party on Howard Street between Broadway and Mercer Street. April showers didn’t keep hundreds of people from coming by to drop-off electronic waste for recycling, donate books and clothing, learn about composting, grab a reusable bag, or simply enjoy a car-free pedestrian public space for the day.
We hope to see you soon at future street events!
Thanks again to all of our partners Lower East Side Ecology Center, Housing Works Bookstore Cafe, Housing Works SoHo Thrift Shop, Reclaimed Organics, New York ComPOST Box Project, Common Ground Compost, New York City Department of Sanitation, Big Reuse, Artists & Fleas, and Council Member Margaret Chin!
