On Monday, April 22, the SoHo Broadway Initiative celebrated Earth Day with a block party on Howard Street between Broadway and Mercer Street. April showers didn’t keep hundreds of people from coming by to drop-off electronic waste for recycling, donate books and clothing, learn about composting, grab a reusable bag, or simply enjoy a car-free pedestrian public space for the day.

Whether it’s making sure the sidewalks are clean, working to reduce sidewalk congestion, or bringing temporary public art to Broadway, the Initiative is helping make the SoHo Broadway corridor better for those who use it every day.

For April there will be power washing on: 4/8 (Monday), 4/9 (Tuesday), 4/22 (Monday) and 4/23 (Tuesday). ACE power-washes each corner and all trash/recycling receptacles on the corners from 7pm until no later than 1am on the above dates.
