What brought you to SoHo Broadway? What do you do here?
I have the honor of working for Artists & Fleas! We’re a collective retail experience with three NYC locations and one in LA. Our company headquarters is in 594 Broadway and our SoHo location is at 568 Broadway.
What do you like about SoHo Broadway?
**love! I love the community here. I can’t tell you how much joy it brings me to walk down one of the busiest streets in this city and always see a familiar face to smile and wave at. It’s so heartwarming.
What is your favorite SoHo Broadway memory or experience?
Obviously the Trivia Night that Artists & Fleas and Soho Broadway Initiative put on together is at the top of my list! And being awarded the Cast Iron Partnership Award this year! What an honor that was. Everything we do with you is amazing.
Besides all that, I think the time on SoHo Broadway that I’m going to never forget was during my first few weeks of working for Artists & Fleas when the SoHo store hadn’t opened yet. Dawn, the Senior Manager at the time, and my office was literally on the floor of the store (where Black Gold is right now!) and we worked night & day with the team and our merchants to build out the space. The historic building came with so many interesting challenges, it was such a crazy experience! Everytime I see brown paper on a storefront and a coming soon sign, my heart goes back to the excitement of being behind those doors.
If you had 20 minutes, where would you go?
I would grab a book from Strand in Artists & Fleas, a cold Brew coffee from Black Gold & sit in the Elizabeth Street Garden and read.
What should we know about you outside of working/living here? What do you do for fun or are you looking forward to doing?
I’m a jeweler on the side! I actually sold with Artists & Fleas in Williamsburg before I was hired. I still create jewelry and I’m really enjoying learning other crafts- I’m playing with glass soldering, fabric dying, looming, and candle pouring at the moment!
