AVAILABLE Gallery, a new pop-up gallery, opened in SoHo in mid-December at 595 Broadway. Two photographers, Matt Oliver and Oliver Zabar, set up the gallery to primarily showcase their work, bringing modern photography to the SoHo Broadway district! Check out our brief interview with Matt Oliver below.
What does your organization do? What industry are you in?
We are AVAILABLE Gallery, a temporary gallery created in a vacant storefront on Broadway (just below Houston). Oliver Zabar and I are showcasing our photographs, and also the work of a few other photographers. The show includes classic New York shots and a few from far away locations. Everything is family friendly and perfect for your living room wall! All photos on display in the gallery are available for purchase online at available.gallery. We frame and ship anywhere in the US!
What brought you to SoHo?
We wanted to add some positive activity to an otherwise (relatively) quiet block by displaying the photographs that we are selling online.
What sets your organization apart from the rest?
This particular block (Broadway between Houston and Prince) isn’t generally the place you’d expect to find a gallery. So lots of people discover us accidentally when they’re walking down the street and notice our big window sign that says “AVAILABLE Gallery”. Aside from being a few blocks away from where you’d expect to find us, you’ll see that our work stands out with eye-catching images and fair prices. The gallery is a big space, so it’s also easy to maintain social distancing here!
Is there a promotion that you would like to offer readers or members of the SoHo Broadway community?
All images are sold online at www.available.gallery, but stop into the gallery for custom framing options not offered online, and also for the occasional display images available at special prices.
