Donna was among this year’s six Cast Iron Partner Award recipients at the SoHo Broadway Initiative’s 5th Annual Meeting! We caught up with Donna to learn about what brought her to SoHo and her involvement in the community.
Year of arrival on SoHo Broadway: 1992
What brought you to SoHo Broadway? What do you do here?
I started working with two SoHo buildings (594 Broadway and 100 Crosby Street) assisting with leasing and tenant relations.
What does your organization do, what industry are you in?
GFP Real Estate is the managing and leasing agent of the properties mentioned above and the principals of GFPRE are owners of the properties along with a group of partners for each.
What do you like about SoHo Broadway?
I like SoHo’s scale – the relatively low-rise buildings and the expanse of Broadway countered by the smaller cross-streets. Without being a hub it has great access to transportation and it is easy to get anywhere in the city from SoHo. I also like the variety of businesses located along Broadway. I deal with a lot of the upper-floor businesses and love the creative energy buzzing above the street.
What is your favorite SoHo Broadway memory or experience?
I cannot say it is my favorite, but standing on the roof of 594 Broadway and looking southward on 9/11 is probably the strongest memory. I have so enjoyed my many years in this neighborhood that a single favorite memory is too hard to pick.
If you had 20 minutes, where would you go?
With 20 minutes I would likely be found in the lobby of one of our buildings catching up in person with tenants. It is a great place talk directly.
