Sculptor Barbara Lubliner will teach techniques to transform plastic bottles and scraps into sculptural objects of unique and interesting designs. Participants explore the creative potential of discarded plastic through an illustrated talk and hands on experimentation.
**Participants should collect and bring some clean plastic water bottles, soda bottles, colorful plastic bags, or even colorful detergent containers.**
New York sculptor, Barbara Lubliner moves fluidly from performance art to works on paper to sculpture both large and small. Her art practice is a confluence of art and life. Each twist and turn is driven by the desire to play with current life concerns as the jumping off point for insightful art.
In recent years Lubliner’s public installations and studio work have involved re-purposing trash into playful art, shifting the focus from environmental blight to creative production.
