By Mendez SoHo Salon Series
Yukie Ohta founded the SoHo Memory Project (“SMP”) to celebrate and preserve SoHo History from colonial days through the present of the neighborhood now known as SoHo. With a focus on the decades between 1960 and 1980, SMP incorporates a mobile museum, blog, oral history, library of source documents and digital archive.
Louis Mendez and his wife, Dianne, shared 45 eventful years together, showcasing not only Louis’ work, but also the work of many talented artists working in a wide variety of media.
Initially sponsoring shows and receptions at their Pot-Pourrri Gallery in upstate NY, they later began hosting charitable events and exhibitions in their artist’s loft in SoHo. To honor this shared legacy, Dianne launched the Mendez SoHo Salon Series in 2015 to create an intimate, informal and engaging environment featuring “guests of honor” who present their work and are then available for Q&A with Salon patrons. The Salons are scheduled at 3:00 PM on selected Sunday afternoons.
Meet and mingle in an informal Sunday afternoon setting to learn about the SoHo Memory Project and the work of Yukie Ohta.
