The Wing is a network of co-working and community spaces for women, founded in Manhattan’s Ladies Mile in New York City. Built upon the Women’s Club movement of the 19th Century, The Wing’s mission is to create space for women to advance their pursuits and build community together. Their first location opened in Manhattan’s Flatiron district in October 2016, and a new location in SoHo was recently opened in October 2017.
Since opening their first space in Manhattan’s Flatiron district in October 2016, The Wing has been overwhelmed with the amount of interest from women looking to join. They are incredibly excited to open the doors to their second home in SoHo and to expand their diverse, talented and passionate community of Wing women. When searching for a second location The Wing was really looking for a space that embodied all the characteristics of a true SoHo loft. When they first saw the space at 52 Mercer, they fell in love with the architecture, including the two sky lights, and knew that it was perfect for their next location.
Audrey Gelman and Lauren Kassan started The Wing because they didn’t feel like a space existed that offered women a place to work and build community. Traditional co-working spaces have predominantly male memberships and, with The Wing, they wanted to create a flexible space for driven, on-the-go women that they could use as needed – whether to work, take a shower, hold a meeting with other women, or grab some lunch and charge their iPhone.
The spaces that they have built and the community that they foster is what differentiates them from others. Their concept and design, the amenities and resources, and their programming are all intentionally created with women in mind.
Welcome to SoHo Broadway!
