Meet Clean Team Member Marvin Agee

This September, the Initiative starts a monthly series where we will introduce each member of the Initiative’s Clean Team.  The Clean Team is made up of 7 members who work for our supplemental sanitation partner ACE.  Most readers recognize our Clean Team from their distinctive sapphire SoHo Broadway t-shirts.  The goal of this series is to introduce our readers to the people who work tirelessly each day to keep the SoHo Broadway corridor looking its best.

On September 1st, Marvin Agee joined the Initiative’s Executive Director, Mark Dicus for lunch.  Marvin is a lifelong New Yorker who was born in Harlem and now lives the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn.

5 Questions with Marvin Agee

SBI: When did you start working/volunteering with the SoHo Broadway Initiative?  

MA: November 2014

SBI: Outside of work, what are interests and activities?

MA: When I’m not at work, I like to read and watch tv.  I enjoy science fiction shows like Star Trek and I’ve been known to watch a few episodes of Jeopardy.  I’ll also run errands for my roommate and help out taking care of our apartment.

SBI: What the best part of the next thing you’re doing?

MA: I always look forward to coming to work.  I like working on Broadway  because it’s a busy street and before I know it, my shift is over.

SBI: What is your favorite hang-out spot in the SoHo/Downtown area?

MA: Broadway.  I know that is kind of boring, but I feed off Broadway’s energy and look forward to each day I’m here.

SBI: What is your preferred mode of transportation in NYC?

MA: Train system.
