Over the last few years, the Initiative has collaborated with the Horticultural Society of New York and the New York City Department of Transportation to maintain colorful planters along Broadway to enhance the pedestrian experience.
Last week, The Hort planted a new selection of yellow pansies, purple and white peacock kale, and orange marigolds (flowering soon!) complemented by sweet potato vine and celosia continuing on from the summer. It’s also the season for our perennial beautyberry displaying its purple clusters. Check out these autumnal plantings the next time you are walking along Broadway!
