Join the Mulberry Street Library in welcoming local artist Harry Powell, whose artwork will be on display from Wednesday, July 17 through Tuesday, July 5.
Harry Powell is primarily an urban landscape painter. Harry has included a portion of his Sunflowers series. He is currently working toward a degree in Art History and Education at the City University of New York. He draws his influences from Edward Hopper, Charles Sheeler and Richard Estes.
Harry grew up in a family that helped pioneer SoHo and is currently an Artist in Residence (AIR) in Soho. Beginning at the age of 14 he has studied at the Art Students League and has been an active artist for over twenty years. He’s currently a teacher’s assistant at the Battery Park City School.
