On April 2, the Department of City Planning submitted 30-day notice for the SoHo/NoHo Neighborhood Plan proposal to local Community Boards; the proposal has since begun public review.
On July 26, Manhattan Community Board 2 passed a resolution in opposition to the proposal. The testimony before CB2 of SoHo Broadway Initiative Executive Director Mark Dicus can be found here.
The proposal is now under review by the office of Borough President Gale Brewer. The Borough President will conduct a public hearing as part of her ULURP review of the SoHo/NoHo rezoning on Monday, 8/23 from 6-8 pm. Register here to attend.
An opening panel consisting of stakeholders, advocates, and experts will discuss the proposed plan — raising perspectives on the public realm, commercial development, affordable housing, arts and culture, historic preservation, and tenant protections as they relate to the rezoning and the future of SoHo/NoHo.
Public testimony will be allowed for up to two minutes each and must be submitted in advance to info@manhattanbp.nyc.gov.
The City Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing for the SoHo/NoHo rezoning proposal on Thursday, 9/2 at 10 a.m. The hearing will be held both on Zoom and in-person at the NYC Planning Commission Hearing Room, Lower Concourse, 120 Broadway, New York, NY. The registration link will be shared here once it is available.
