5 Questions with Jessica:

SBI: When did you start working with the SoHo Broadway Initiative?

JG: I started my internship at the SoHo Broadway Initiative in July 2022. It’s such an exciting time to work for the Initiative with New York City coming back to life after a difficult couple of years. SoHo is definitely one of my favorite neighborhoods in Manhattan to shop in and explore the different beautiful streets full of unique architecture.

SBI: Outside of work, what are your interests and activities?

JG: I love to travel to new places and explore new cultures. I am also a big outdoors person: hiking, biking, swimming, standup paddle boarding, basketball, spending relaxing time on the beach, etc. As far as activities in Manhattan go: walking around  different neighborhoods and finding cute cafes, trying new restaurants with friends,  seeing shows on Broadway, shopping, picnics in Central Park, and seeing concerts with great musicians.

SBI: What is the best part of the next thing you’re doing?

JG: Putting what I’ve learned from Baruch College and my internships to good use in my Communications/Marketing & Social Media/Business career moving forward. My goal career field is to work for non-profits. It’s a very exciting field and I’m excited to share this knowledge with the SoHo Broadway Initiative.

SBI: What is your favorite hang-out spot in the SoHo/Downtown area?

JG: I love taking leisurely strolls through the SoHo/Downtown area and my favorite hang-out spot would have to be Maman café over on Centre Street. It’s a great place to sip on a latte and eat a chocolate croissant while trying to get some college assignments completed.

SBI: What is your preferred mode of transportation in NYC?

JG: I would have to say Uber/Lyft/Taxis are my favorite modes of transportation in NYC (even though the prices are very high right now). I also really enjoy riding the Revel scooters to and from my destinations. They are reasonably priced and tons of fun!
