Director of Public Safety & Operations
Frank Wessels joined our team as the Initiative’s Director of Public Safety in May 2016. After 20 years of service, Frank retired as a Detective from New York City Police Department. Following his retirement in 2009, Frank pursued and received a Master of Science degree in Education from The City University of New York.Prior to joining the Initiative, he worked as a Public Safety Supervisor for The New School where he managed the safety and security of students, faculty, staff, guests and all University property.Frank is dedicated professional who is excited to bring his ͞people first͟ approach to work with those who live, work and visit the SoHo Broadway corridor. Frank also enjoys keeping up with current technology trends, reading, home improvement projects and exploring the city.
